Humble Beginnings and its Founder
Wallace Security Agency was made from the passion, dedication and hard work of the late Kenneth L. Wallace.
Mr. Wallace served in the US Army. In his 21 years of service, he had many overseas tours. After his retirement from the Army, he worked security detail in the Baltimore area, notably at the Baltimore Washington International Airport. Later, he returned to West Virginia… to his roots.
The security industry was always Mr. Wallace’s passion. Prior to starting his own business, he worked for several companies that did not meet the professional standards he had been taught to uphold. It was important for him to feel like he was contributing to the safety, security and well-being of his community, and having his own company was the only way he felt he could make that happen.
On April 1, 2002, Wallace Security Agency began its operation. The name was chosen to honor his father, Roy Wallace, who had instilled in him the work ethic, discipline, and dedication needed to pursue the venture.
His wife, Deborah Wallace, played a significant role in the startup of the company. She helped with the administrative work that included human resources, invoicing, payroll, supervisory and management roles. Many of his original employees that helped get the business off the ground were some of Mr. Wallace’s former co-workers who encountered similar problems, and trusted him to uphold the values they believed in.
Slowly, the company gained its reputation mostly through word of mouth, and has been successful ever since.
